Paris-10 very special shops

Paris main page

BEC POILU: because young talents transform thrash into beautiful, super-modern works of art, like tables of melted CD covers, and futuristic lamps from scrap of old trains and iron rails.
11, rue de Cambrai metro: Corentin Cariou

CAPIA: because seeing antique toys of this puppet doctor is a delight and A MUST. He shows his beautiful antique toys in his beautiful shop.
24-26 Galerie Vero-Dodat metro: Louvre-Rivoli.

COLLECTION-ORIENT-EXPRESS: because you can buy ash trays and other table items like lamps, tablecloths from the Orient-Express.
15, Rue Boissy d'Anglas metro: Concorde

CLAUDE DUPERRIER-MARCHE VERNAISON: because this booth at the Marche Vernaison ( Flea Market of Saint-Ouen) has a lot of lamps, furniture and all sorts of bronze and copper knick-knacks at discount prices. And because the cabin-trunks of the long gone great cruises remind me of Indiana Jones and consorts.....

GALERIE INSTANT-F.DESJOURS: because it can give you a bit of immortality. For little money. Call it sculpture "a la minute " ( in a minute). The contours of your face are measured by a laser device, and a machine gets a replica of your face in wood, gyps, stone or....like some Far-East customers, in gold! The finishing touch is done manually , not because the machine is not capable to do the details, but to enhance the face and give it a personal touch.
17, Quai aux Fleurs metro: Pont Marie

GLENAT LIBRAIRE D'IMAGES: because it is the kingdom of the comic strip books. A gigantic collection on two floors.
84, Boulevard Saint-Germain metro: Cluny-La Sorbonne

HUITIEME ART: because it's here that you can buy the most famous TV classics in book form like "Star Wars" and others.
16, rue du parc Royal metro: Saint-Paul

SEGAS: because it's one of the few shops where you can still buy hand made walking-sticks (for men). They have them in antique as well as modern. A shop you have to visit anyway!
" Gallery 34 " 34, Passage Jouffroy .Close to the Grévin Museum

MAX SPIRA: because it is a very funny shop, full of antique knick-knacks, kitsch and a bit of Art Deco. And because you are surprised that a shop like that exists in such a "chic" neighborhood.
21, place des Vosges metro: Chemin-Vert

VIA: because of the numerous design objects you can find here. Located in the new Viaduc des Arts it's a grand showroom with the best of the ateliers of artists like Philippe Starck, Mourgue, Wilmotte, Gaivolle and others. Their neighbors, of which a "Aubusson" tapestries merchant are also worth a visit.
40, rue Taine metro: Daumesnil
