--marché d'Aligre, rue d'Aligre. Except Monday, open every morning. One of the cheapest and most lively in Paris. You hear bargaining in all languages because there is not only fruit, vegetables and meat for sale but mountains of used clothing for five cents. Bistro not to miss: Le Baron Rouge!

13th arrondissement

--Biocoop, 55 rue de la Glacière. Open from Tuesday to Friday from 10.00-14.00 and 15.30-20.00. Very recent, this immense surface proposes only products which will make you a hundred years old. It's BIO and it's good. 

14th arrondissement

--marché aux puces de la Porte de Vanves, rue Marc-Saugnier and avenue Georges Lafenestre. On Saturday and Sunday from 9.00-19.00. Smaller and more selective.

--marché biologique Raspail on Saturday, Sunday morning and Tuesday. No nitrates, phosphates, only bio. 

--boulevard Edgar-Quinet, a market like other brocante markets. Prices lower when the pack around 13.00-13.30

 

 

 

15th arrondissement

--marché de la Convention, on Thursday and Sunday. Ancient professions are still present, chair menders, bird-stuffers and knife-grinders of old Paris.

--marché de Grenelle, from Lamotte-Picquet towards Dupleix. Wednesday and Sunday morning under the arcades of the aerial metro.

--marché aux livres (book market), rue Brancion, on Saturday and Sunday from 9.00-18.00. Next to park Georges Brassens under the old structures of an ancient hall, broke intellectuals and collectors will find the old book there were looking for. Ancient collections, bargains, books sold according to weight.....

--rue Lecourbe, non covered market. On Wednesday and Saturday.

--rue du Commerce, lively street with a lot of shops

16th arrondissement

--marché Iéna-Président Wilson, every Wednesday and Saturday on the raised strip in the middle of the avenue Président-Wilson. For the trendy and chic people.

--rue d'Auteuil, street with a lot of shops

--rue des Belles-Feuilles, small market street for the spoiled gourmets of the 16th. Fresh fish at "Herrier", cheese at "Lillo", truffles, venaison and poultry at "Le Poulet de Bresse".
