Notre Dame has always fascinated amateurs of esoterism and occult sciences. The cathedral is for them a hermetic masterwork that only privileged initiates know how to decode and decipher. This “Parole Perdue” (Lost Word), authors like Gobineau de Montluisant in the 17th century or Fulcanelli in the 20th century, affirm to have found it back by studying the structure of Notre Dame. According to their theory, the most famous alchemists of middle ages had rendezvous at the portal located at the right side of Notre Dame.
