Paris-Secrets of Notre Dame de Paris-Hidden messages

Notre Dame has always fascinated amateurs of esoterism and occult sciences. The cathedral is for them a hermetic masterwork that only privileged initiates know how to decode and decipher. This “Parole Perdue” (Lost Word), authors like Gobineau de Montluisant in the 17th century or Fulcanelli in the 20th century, affirm to have found it back by studying the structure of Notre Dame. According to their theory, the most famous alchemists of middle ages had rendezvous at the portal located at the right side of Notre Dame. In his book “Le Mystère des Cathédrales”, Fulcanelli pretends that an alchemist stratified as a statue “grand vieillard de pierre” (great stone old man) waits in the second gallery, ready to receive and inform his mystery companions.
“That’s the alchemist of Notre-Dame,” says Fulcanelli. And according to the “Guide Paris mysterieux” (collective work published at editions Tchou) the large western rose window is also an esoteric message: “Notice that the Virgin placed in the centre of the rose window wears a green robe under a red coat, when Christian tradition and Christian symbolism always makes that a blue colour. In all initiatic traditions, we always find an esoteric valour affected to red. And, in the case of the Virgin of the rose window, the image of the coat is in itself an evident weapon. In “ancient and accepted” Scottish Free Masonry the temple where the title of “Knight of the Orient and Sword” is given (fifteenth degree, first degree accorded to the initiate coming from loges of perfection), is divided in two apartments, one green, the other red. “
