Very known in France since the French movie director Claude Berri shot a few
scenes a his movie “Manon des Sources” here. Besides it is a quiet hotel and
with modern equipments like a swimming-pool. I think a sauna too. Half-board

How can I describe such a place? It is superb. A mas where you feel the
instant you walk in that there is a spirit living here.
On a hill, overlooking the the Luberon and the valley of the Durance, set in a
wonderful domain, with pool and gardens, a wonderful mas, a beauty of
integration of modern and traditional Provence. Quietness, taste and refinement
are the words to express the feeling when you stay here. Jovial welcome with
that touch of familiarity I like so much. 6
rooms and one suite. All decorated by local craftsmen of different professions.
They have also the good idea to be modestly priced. I stayed here a few days in
August 1998. I fell in love, what a superb place! Rooms for 91.50 to 122 €. The
suite is for 160 €.
But that’s
not all. The cuisine here is of the highest standards, cooked by one of
France’s leading female-chef, Reine Sammut. In a vaulted dining room with
harmonious and warm colors, prolonged by a beautiful terrace, her cuisine jumps
in the sortileges of savors of which she has the secret. We had dinner there
that summer and it was a great experience. For 29 € we had: beignets
d’aubergines aux legumes de jardin sauce aux melets (fry of anchovy), daurade
grillee cote peau a l’huile d’olive avec croustillant de legumes au basilic.
My
wife had as dessert a chou aux pignons de pin et miel crème vanille entoure de
fruits rouges and I had a soupe de melons et granite de Beaumes de Venise. Wine
was a bottle Cote du Luberon Chateau La Canorgue 1995.
You have
even a larger dinner for 48.75 €. Definitively, THE address in the Luberon!
